So you have a home office.
Congratulations! Many people are eager to have a dedicated space at home where
they can concentrate and manage their tasks. That being said, the idea of a
home office and the reality of having one can be very different. Having an
office in your home is welcoming work into the sanctuary of your living space.
How do you keep your Zen office? If you want to create a workplace that fits
easily into the rest of your home or apartment (and into your life), you need
to think about the different options available to decorate an office at home.
You may not think that creating an aesthetic that you enjoy in your office should be a top priority of the job. But decorating a home office in a way that you like is actually quite powerful. When you enjoy this space, you want to keep it clean and it can also help you appreciate your work. The chore of going to the office – even if it is your place of residence – is much easier when you go to a place that is nice for you.

It’s not a secret. Home offices can become messy – quickly. To keep the batteries at bay, it is tempting to store bins, drawers, etc. in the organization. There are about a million interesting options on the market to help keep your home office in perfect condition. The only problem is that it is too easy to bring a group of them home without implementing them.
Before you start stocking drawer organizers and workbooks, think about how you actually organize. What works well for you in the rest of your home? If you already have the habit of scanning your receipts and keeping your documents in digital format, why buy a filing cabinet for your home office? If you still use a favorite pen, why buy a bonnet pen? Do not get carried away by the hype of office organizations. You have the option to create your own workspace. Do it in a way that will work for you in the long run. Remember, decorating a home office so that it does not look too sterile is much easier when you avoid stacking piles of bins, folders and diaries.

Elevate your thought
Even the smallest home office can be fully stocked with great decorating and organizing solutions. The trick is to imagine. Maximize your vertical surface by hanging the art you love, adding floating shelves or installing cabinets against the wall. The height of your wall is an asset when decorating a home office. Do not be afraid to play with what you block. Open cabinets could be both practical and fun. Fill them with useful bins next to colorful books or significant tchotchkes. Never forget that your home office is just that – yours. You can use the full height of the wall as a backdrop to inspire you and improve your productivity.

Make yourself at home
Your office is an extension of your home or apartment. He should look and feel like one. Decorate with the same themes you used at home and incorporate objects that you like. Nothing is forbidden. If you are a plant lover, cover your home office in green. If you have a sense of hygiene, add a plush rug and a comfortable spray to your office chair. Do not limit yourself simply because it is a workspace. You will be more productive in a room that will bring you joy, so why not pay special attention to creating an office that is like home?

Cut the clutter of the cord
In the digital age, one of the worst problems of office space is the clutter that accumulates. You probably need your computer and printer, but that does not mean you have to watch their tangle of cables all day long. Take steps to ensure your home office is not cluttered with cables. Make a hole in the back of a pretty box. Your router and other necessary technologies can live there with power cords in the back. Install a power strip under or at the back of your desk. Use cable ties and control hooks to entangle the cords that are plugged into this power strip and insert them into the back of the furniture where they are not visible. You will be surprised how the simple removal of the eyebolts will give you an impression of cleanliness and brightness.
